The Summer Olympic Games took place in Munich exactly 50 years ago, in the summer of 1972. And of course the city is marking this special anniversary in appropriate style, with numerous cultural events, special exhibitions, Olympics-themed tours and other campaigns taking place all through the year to revive the Olympic spirit of 1972.
