Since 1807, the Viktualienmarkt has been supplying Munich's residents with all kinds of delicacies. In former times it was the most important place for food supply, in the 1950s the market developed into a popular place for delicatessen. From the Leberkäsesemmel (typical bavarian food) to the oyster - there is something for every taste and budget to this day. In addition to the dozens of market stalls from a total of almost 150 companies, the Maytree, the several fountains and the beer garden are typical for the Viktualienmarkt. This beer garden is the only one in Munich that is operated by all breweries – so every day a different beer is served.
