Laura Schieferle

Laura Schieferle is head of the Munich Kunstareal office and knows the neighbourhood with its museums, galleries and universities better than almost anyone else. Making this overall package of a lively neighbourhood and a cultural cluster that is unique in Europe even more visible is both a dream job and a matter close to Laura's heart. Laura doesn't agree with this judgement that Munich is a village; she throws herself into Munich's vibrant cultural scene with great pleasure and enjoys life here to the full.

Julius Brantner

Julius Branter has risen to become one of Munich's favourite organic bakers in just a few years. This is certainly due to his uncompromising focus on quality and sustainability when it comes to the bread and sweet pastries he sells in his two branches in the old town and Schwabing. And you can taste it. Only the best is good enough could be the perfectionist's motto.

Carolin Engelhardt

No customer leaves Caroline Engelhard's ‘Münchner Dirndl’ atelier in Schwabing until the ‘Gwand’ fits 100 per cent. A declaration of love to tradition and homeland - that is the aim of every one of her dirndls. Even when work and family commitments take centre stage, she looks forward to being at home in Munich every day anew. Schwabing is her absolute dream neighbourhood.

Claudia Pichler

Claudia Pichler dismantles all our favourite everyday rituals in the broadest Bavarian and hits the audience's laughing nerve. She is a regular guest on BR television programmes such as ‘schlachthof’, ‘Schwabinger Vereinsheim’, ‘Kabarett aus Franken’ and ‘Grünwald Freitagscomedy’. She can also be seen live on cabaret stages in Munich and beyond. Claudia is the ‘Münchner Kindl’ among our ambassadors: She has never felt the impulse to leave. In Munich, says Claudia, ‘I have everything I need’.

Wolfgang Hingerl

Wolfgang Hingerl is committed to a radically regional and phenomenally flavoursome food and drink culture in Munich. As managing director and sommelier, he runs four restaurants: two bars in the southern railway station district and Maxvorstadt and two one-star restaurants in Sendling and the old town. Wolfgang advises that you should take your time when visiting Munich. He wanders through the city as often as possible, and particularly likes to do so through his neighbourhood of Haidhausen, with the open senses of a gourmet and sommelier. ‘Spicy, crispy, crunchy, hearty, soulful and ‘simply good’ - that's what Munich tastes like to him.
