Attractions

Discover Munich’s city centre on the „Königlich bayerische Hoflieferanten“ (Royal Bavarian Purveyors) tour. Shops such as Ludwig Beck, Dallmayr, Eilles, or Ed Meier were the favourite suppliers of the Wittelsbach dynasty and are still part of Munich's history today.

A private tour of the old town takes you to the main attractions in the city centre, e.g., the Marienplatz (main square), Frauenkirche (cathedral), Odeonsplatz (square), Viktualienmarkt (food market) and the Residence (city palace). Alternatively, you can book a private taxi guide and visit the attractions by car.

The GenussKulTour is a foray into the culture of culinary delights, introducing various delicatessen locations in Munich’s city centre. You can also visit the culinary attractions as part of a private tour. On request and depending on the time of the year, you and your guide will visit a wine cabinet, a coffee roasting house, a cheese stall at the Viktualienmarkt food market, a chocolaterie, etc. You will also have the opportunity to sample selected delicacies.

The English Garden, the green oasis in the middle of the city, offers many opportunities away from the bustling old town. You can take a walk to the Monopteros, a Greek-style ornamental temple and enjoy a view of the city centre sights. Alternatively, you can rent a rowing boat or pedal boat at Kleinhessloher See (lake) or have a lakeside meal in the beer garden at Seehaus restaurant. Special highlights are the Eisbach wave, a meeting place for surfing enthusiasts from all over the world, or a carriage ride through the English Garden.

Visit BMW Welt and book an individual experience ride through Munich. You can choose between SHARE NOW and BMW M DRIVING EXPERIENCE.

A tasting tour at the Viktualienmarkt food market, the favourite haunt of locals and visitors alike, offers the perfect culinary experience. Be ready for a surprise!

Take a glimpse behind the scenes of the Bayerische Staatsoper (Bavarian State Opera) on an exclusive backstage tour (duration approx. 60 minutes).

Learn all about Munich beer on a brewery tour, followed by beer tasting.

Museums

Be sure not to miss the Kunstareal art quarter and discover world-famous museums. Munich also boasts numerous galleries and other art venues.

The Deutsches Museum, one of the world’s most traditional and largest science and technology museums, is a captivating experience for all visitors.

In the Lenbachhaus, housed in the historic villa of the painter prince Franz von Lenbach, the world’s largest collection of works by the artist group Blauer Reiter is displayed.

Villa Stuck is one of the most important artists' centres in Europe.

The Schack collection is a jewel among Munich’s museums and houses world-famous works of late Romanticism.

The Haus der Kunst is a gallery for modern and contemporary art.

Discover the world of the pharaohs at the Staatlichen Museum Ägyptischer Kunst (State Museum of Egyptian Art) and cultural riches of the world at Museum Fünf Kontinente.

Exclusive Pleasure

Treat yourself to light specialities, cool drinks and a magnificent view in the Blue Spa Lounge with its roof terrace on the 7th floor of Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Those who want to unwind afterwards, can book a wellness break at the Blue Spa.

Experience the award-winning culinary art of Mario Gambas. Guests at the Acquarello restaurant in Bogenhausen (district) can enjoy a journey into Italian gourmet cuisine.

Esszimmer by Käfer (restaurant): After a tour of BMW Welt, you can indulge in culinary bliss at this gourmet restaurant.

Alois Dallmayr Fine Dining Restaurant: The interior promises a voyage back to colonial times, paired with light, contemporary product cuisine.

Especially in the evening, you can admire a breath-taking view over Munich over a sunset menu or an experience dinner at Restaurant 181 in the Olympiaturm (Olympic tower).

Restaurant Schwarzreiter Tagesbar & Restaurant serves creative international gourmet cuisine and fine wines.

The Michelin-starred restaurant Atelier im Hotel Bayerischer Hof is the perfect place to enjoy seasonal gourmet cuisine. Designed by Belgian art dealer Axel Vervoordt, the restaurant resembles an art studio with a particular intimate touch.

But Munich’s range of Michelin-starred cuisine includes a lot more.

Luxurious shopping

Almost all the international luxury fashion and jewellery labels to suit every taste are represented at Maximilianstrasse. But there are also beautiful and classy shops in other parts of Munich.

Second-hand designer fashion not only preserves the environment, but also offers a great shopping experience in Munich.

If you want to have all eyes on you at the next Oktoberfest, you can design your own traditional garment at Tracht und Heimat.

For a shopping spree away from big retail chains and shopping malls, you can visit the Gärtner- und Glockenbach districts. In some of the backyards, you will find small studios, where you can peek over the artists’ shoulder while they work. Unique pieces from metal, ceramics, felt or leather are produced here with great attention to detail.

A tip for men: At Hirmer, the world’s largest menswear store in Munich’s pedestrian zone, you can assemble your individual garment with the experienced team of tailors. Create a unique piece for yourself!

Classy evening programme

Get that Broadway feeling on a visit to a musical at Deutsches Theater (theatre).

Concert & Dinner: A sensual combination of musical and culinary highlights in an extraordinary setting is offered at Schloss Nymphenburg (Nymphenburg Palace).

The Gärtnerplatztheater (theatre) is the city’s opera, operetta and musical stage.

A very special movie night: The Astor Cinema Lounge at Hotel Bayerischer Hof offers cinema entertainment in a class of its own. With comfortable lounge sofas and only 38 seating options, every film is turned into an experience.

The Prinzregententheater (theatre) presents a varied programme of cabaret, opera or concert.

On a FC Bayern match day, a home game viewed from the arenaEXKLUSIV VIP Lounge at Allianz Arena (football stadium) is a sporting highlight. A special fringe package in Europe's most modern stadium not only makes the hearts of football fans beat faster.

Excursion destinations

Schloss Nymphenburg (Nymphenburg Palace): The palace complex with its lavish park is one of the largest baroque estates in Germany.
Around the main palace, there are several other destinations worth seeing, such as:
- the park castles Amalienburg, Pagodenburg and Badenburg
- the Marstallmuseum (museum of carriages and sleighs)
- the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg (Nymphenburg porcelain museum)
- the botanical garden
Tip: When the weather is nice, a ride in an original Venetian gondola on the palace canal is an unforgettable experience.

Munich and its surrounding area boast excellent golf courses. You can tee off on various public golf courses without having a membership or handicap.

Helicopter sightseeing flight: Enjoy a sightseeing flight (about 35 min.), starting at the Jesenwang airfield near Fürstenfeldbruck in the west of Munich and admire the Marienplatz (main square), the Allianz Arena (football stadium), Olympiapark (Olympic Park), BMW Welt or the English Garden from a spectacular bird’s eye view.

Explore the Munich countryside in a very special vehicle: Whether in an Austin Healey Sprite, a Jaguar E-Type or a rare Porsche 356 - every ride will be an experience! You can take an individual tour of the surrounding area in the classic car of your choice. Alternatively, you can let yourself be guided through the beautiful Upper Bavarian region on a set route.

Enjoy a private discovery of Lake Chiemsee, the largest lake in Bavaria with an experienced skipper. Skilled sailors can also take to the water on a sailing yacht without a skipper. A visit to the Herreninsel island is definitely worthwhile. King Ludwig II created his second Versailles here from 1878. Schloss Herrenchiemsee (palace) is the last and most magnificent building of the fairy-tale king.

A very private Spa: At the Dorfbad Tannermühl spa in Bayrischzell, you can enjoy exceptional hours in a unique ambience. The spa is nestled at the foot of the Wendelstein mountain in the tranquil village of Bayrischzell. Its location directly at the eight-metre-high waterfall is particularly impressive.

Follow in the footsteps of fairy-tale king Ludwig II on a day trip to the royal palaces of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof.

Hop aboard and experience a unique flight as a pilot in a flight simulator at Munich Airport. The Exclusive Programme offers a flight of around 60 minutes. You can choose between various models – from the Airbus A320 to the Boeing 737 or the Airbus 380 mega-liner.

During the exclusive 1.5-hour balloon flight over Lake Tegernsee, you will catch a bird's eye view of the foothills of the Alps as far as the Zugspitze (mountain) and Lake Constance from an altitude of 3,000 metres. Afterwards, you can round off the experience with a typical Bavarian meal at the Bräustüberl Tegernsee restaurant. The palace promenade invites you to take a leisurely stroll or plan a visit to the Olaf Gulbransson Museum for graphic art and caricature. Olaf Gulbransson became famous for his caricatures in the legendary Munich satirical newspaper Simplicissimus. For those yearning for some relaxation, a visit to the Monte Mare lakeside sauna is recommended.
