People from 190 nations live in Munich and almost every nationality has its own expat community. But where do they meet to watch the games of their home country? From Denmark to Serbia: a listicle featuring the top places to go.
The city of Munich will host six matches during the 2024 European Football Championships. And if you cannot secure a ticket for the stadium: you can find an atmospheric vibe like in the ‘Südkurve’ (south stand) of the football stadium even from a distance – whether you join your own expat community or mingle with Spanish, Scottish, or Croatian football fans. European football fans gather in these pubs.
Cheering on Scotland in an Irish pub? What at first might sound like a recipe for a tangible clash is actually not a problem. In the first place, Ireland did not qualify for this European Championships, so there is no competition.
Secondly, Scottish and Irish fans have many cultural similarities and get on well, also with regard to their shared rivalry with the English. Therefore, fans will gather in Kilian's Irish Pub for the opening match between Scotland and Germany on 14 June 2024 and cheer on the Scots together.
