GOP Varieté-Theater

Passion and Poetry

The GOP Varieté-Theater has been delighting its guests with modern, contemporary variety theatre for over 15 years: from young up-and-coming artists to established circus performers.

The GOP Varieté-Theater in Munich is located on Maximilianstrasse at the height of the monument to the Bavarian King Max II and in the best neighbourhood to a whole series of large Munich theatres such as the Kammerspiele, the Nationaltheater and the Residenztheater. It adds the genre of variety theatre to the diversity of Munich's theatre landscape.

The GOP emphasises a modern and contemporary style of vaudeville and invites a wide variety of companies to its stage:  These include young, talented self-taught artists as well as representatives of the famous circus schools from Montreal, Berlin or Quebéc and also internationally recognised performers such as those from Cirque de Demain, Sol y Circo or even clowns from the circus festival in Monte Carlo.

The boundaries between the genres performed are often fluid in the stage shows. Artistry, clowning and intelligent comedy combine to create an entertaining whole. A new show is on the programme every two months, which can be booked with or without a culinary arrangement.

Entertainment for all senses

There are various ways to combine an evening of variety theatre with a meal at the GOP. You can dine before or after the performance in the in-house restaurant Leander. You can put together your own personalised 3-course menu. On site, guests can choose between several starters, main courses and desserts.

There is also the option of dining in the Variety Hall during the show. The “Show & Menu“ package in the variety theatre hall offers a choice of small and fine culinary delights, as well as finger food and a large selection of drinks.
