Discover the magnificent Fünf-Seen-Land (region of five lakes) against the dreamlike backdrop of the Bavarian Alps on a varied bus tour. Look forward to cultural and historical highlights such as Kloster Andechs (monastery), Schloss Possenhofen (castle) and Ludwig II's Votivkapelle (chapel) – accompanied by fascinating views and exciting insights into the history of the region.
The Fünf-Seen-Land is one of the most beautiful regions in Bavaria. It is nestled among rolling hills with views of the Bavarian Alps and Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze. It is no wonder that numerous painters and celebrities have always been drawn to this area. It was formed during the Würm glaciation. Our route takes us past the five lakes that give the region its name: Wesslinger See, Pilsensee, Wörthsee, Ammersee and Starnberger See.
Due to its numerous monasteries, such as Benediktbeuern, Andechs and Polling, this unique landscape is also known as the Pfaffenwinkel (Priests' Corner). The legacy of the Wittelsbach dynasty is also evident at every turn, with buildings such as Possenhofen Palace, the childhood home of Empress Sisi, and Schloss Berg, near where King Ludwig II tragically lost his life. The Votivkapelle commemorates his fate.
There are various stops along Starnberger See, including Starnberg, Possenhofen, Schloss Berg (exterior view), the Votivkapelle, Kloster Andechs and Bernried with the Buchheim Museum.
