Modern architecture city walk

During a walk through the Munich city centre with an official City of Munich tour guide you will be inspired by imposing architecture.

Just like the Church of our Lady and the Residenz Palace, from a historical viewpoint modern architecture has become an integral part of Munich’s skyline.

Renowned building complexes, such as the  Fünf Höfe (“5 Courtyards”) and the Synagogue Ohel Jakob, as well as residential and commercial structures – the buildings created during the last 20 years can all be regarded as architectural highlights which have turned Munich into a metropolis of architecture.

The city is undergoing a change: Due to the great variety of modern buildings and renowned architects, such as Herzog & de Meuron and Wandel, Hoefer and Lorch, Munich’s building history is even described as a new “Gründerzeit”, reflecting the time of cultural development at the end of the 19th century.
