By purchasing a ‘Waldschein’, you are supporting the reforestation and maintenance of urban woodland in Munich. The proceeds go directly to the city’s forestry department and help to ensure the long-term preservation and expansion of the city’s woodland.
Since summer 2023, our guests have had the opportunity to make a growing contribution to climate and environmental protection and to the quality of life in Munich: The city’s forestry department offers so-called ‘forest vouchers’ at a unit price of 80 euros.
At first glance, the price may seem relatively high, but it has been determined using a scientifically sound calculation. For just 80 euros, a 200-square-metre area of woodland can be planted and maintained; in other words, the money goes directly towards the reforestation of the city’s green spaces and woodland areas. This area of woodland can store around two hundred kilograms of CO₂ within a year.
The forest voucher therefore funds measures for the afforestation and maintenance of urban woodland, and these measures make a long-term contribution to climate protection and the development of the city’s woodland. In this way, we can make a sustainably growing contribution to climate protection in our city for years to come. Thank you very much!
