Munich, the “Capital of the Movement,” was a central stage for the emergence and rise of the NSDAP as well as for the Nazi dictatorship. On our tour, we trace the origins of the party and explore the years from 1923 to 1945, along with the crimes committed in the context of National Socialism.

This tour traces the path of the rise of National Socialism in Munich – starting at the Feldherrnhalle, the symbolic end point of Hitler’s failed 1923 coup attempt. From there, the route follows Brienner Straße through the former Nazi Party Quarter to Königsplatz, which is associated with Nazi cult sites.
Along the way, we highlight key locations of National Socialist power, including the former Gestapo headquarters and the so-called Führerbau. Both buildings are viewed from the outside and serve as starting points for discussing the regime's crimes and Munich’s role as the Nazi Party’s control center. The focus is on National Socialist ideology, its implementation in Munich, and today’s culture of remembrance, which critically engages with the history of these sites.
