Undisputedly the city’s highest terrace, the top-most of the Olympic Park Tower’s three viewing platforms is 192 meters high. On days with a good view, you can see the entire city and the surrounding area from up there – and the Alps from Berchtesgadener Land to Allgäu seem close enough to touch.
The revolving restaurant 181 is located just below that at a height of exactly 181 meters. It takes 53 minutes to rotate once and can seat up to 220 people. There’s no better place for fine dining at sunset.

Donated by the Bavarian King Maximilian II to "elevate the monarchical nationalistic spirit of the people", the Maximilianeum was intended to become "a great national building on the Isar Heights near Munich". After its completion in 1874, it became an urban landmark in which Bavaria’s Parliament resides today.
Of course, "near Munich" has long since become the center of Munich, but there’s still no more royal view of the city center and beyond than from the Maximilianeum terrace. The views can be enjoyed at stand-up receptions or corporate celebrations with up to 199 guests.

The upper deck of Alte Utting is certainly the most novel terrace in Munich. Yes, upper deck. After all, you're on an old Ammersee steamer, which itself stands on a former railroad bridge leading to the wholesale market in the Dreimühlen district. First, you have to work that out – and then how the ship got there.
It’s a nice crazy story – just ask at the bar! Alte Utting is Munich’s party ship, and if the weather’s bad, there’s also a stern saloon with 50 seats or 70 standing places (complete with beamer and Funktion-One sound system) and a stage in the engine room for up to 100 guests. This location is particularly suitable for groups who fancy a relaxed environment and a creative audience. In the big beer garden there are also two or three of the best street food stalls far and wide.

A 600 m2 roof terrace in the middle of the River Isar? Yes, that does exist. Frau im Mond (Woman in the Moon) is located on Museum Island at the top of the newly renovated Deutsches Museum between Gärtnerplatzviertel and Au. In the twilight hours of spring and summer, when the huge deciduous trees and wide gravel banks in front of Cornelius Bridge dominate the view, you almost get the impression you’re on an excursion steamer that’s run aground on the river bed.
It's the perfect place to smooth your way into a Saturday night or ease your way out of a weekend on a Sunday afternoon, because you can linger here right through from breakfast and lunch to sundowner time. Frau im Mond can be rented for large MICE groups as an exclusive location for up to 400 people, while smaller groups can book the so-called ‘space capsule’, a smaller private room.

No location is more sophisticated or central than this one. Across the road from the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), the 275 m2 Blue Spa roof garden of the Bayerischer Hof, Munich's legendary luxury hotel, overlooks the city center – very close to all the hustle and bustle, but just that crucial bit above it.
Nowhere else does Munich more perfectly celebrate its own cliché than here, even at breakfast. For larger events, the rooftop garden can be combined with a pool, bar, lounge and winter garden to create more than 600 m2 of space. Ideal for groups that want to experience Munich in all its luxury.

The M'Uniqo Rooftop Bar at the Andaz Hyatt Hotel towers above the rooftops of Schwabing. The large 360° terrace with its expansive open-air bar is even higher – on the 12th floor – and probably the highest in Munich.
But as you wind down the day with an exquisite Negroni, it's much more important that from up here you get the best views of every architectural landmark in Munich – everything from the Uptown Tower (O2 Tower), Highlight Towers, BMW Four-Cylinder and Olympic Stadium in the north to the towers of the old town and the HVB Tower to the southeast. With a maximum capacity of 150 people, even large groups can celebrate the views over all of Munich. And for smaller groups M'Uniqo also has a private dining room.

This rooftop location with a pool is ideal for big parties in the lively new Werksviertel-Mitte behind Ostbahnhof. With over 500 m2 of roof space on two levels, it’s not too high – so you could, for example, celebrate a special day by having the tractor unit of a semitrailer truck weighing several tons craned up there.
Yet it’s high enough to enjoy great views of the whole city while dancing and chatting with a sundowner. An indoor bar and a large hall can also be hired – as demand requires.
