IMEX is the annual meeting place for the global meetings industry. The most important trade exhibition in Germany for meetings, incentives, conventions and events is finally back live on site in Frankfurt am Main this year after a two-year break, from 31 May to 2 June.
The more than 650 exhibitors include national and regional tourism and convention bureaus, international hotel chains, conference and trade fair centres, cruise companies, airlines, technology providers, event management agencies and many other companies from the national and international events industry. At IMEX, the Munich Convention Bureau will be promoting the diverse MICE offerings in the Bavarian capital under the motto #simplymunich and #simplyyourpartner.
Finally, the time has come again: The Munich Convention Bureau can present itself live and in analogue form at IMEX and present the latest news and best practices from the MICE metropolis of Munich to visitors. In the past two years, Munich has proven that it is also possible to hold successful digital and hybrid meetings in the Bavarian capital. The fully digital Munich Security Conference 2021 at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof was the best-known of many examples.
But there is nothing like face-to-face meetings. Functioning hygiene concepts were created for the safety of all participants, which can also be adapted to the current pandemic situation in the future. As one of the first live congresses with almost 400 participants, the ICLE already took place successfully at the beginning of April. The Munich Convention Bureau will provide information about this and other conference examples at its stand at IMEX in Frankfurt (Hall 8/Stand G180) at the beginning of June.
But the Munich Convention Bureau also has other topics in its portfolio, such as the new opening of the Adina Hotel. It is not only the largest Adina Hotel in Europe, but also the highest hotel in Munich and offers a view as far as the Alps. Also new is the 258-room Hampton by Hilton Munich North, which only opened in March near the Allianz Arena, and the Courtyard by Marriott Munich Garching. A great new location for incentives and other events is the high-tech golf experience SevenTees, where golf simulators can be used for team-building tournaments, for example, and the 200-square-metre rooftop terrace is a great place to wind down at the end of the evening.
Classic city hotels or charming resorts in the countryside - both hotel categories are represented at the Munich stand at IMEX Frankfurt. They all have one thing in common: excellent infrastructure for events of all kinds. In the city centre are the Hilton Munich Park, directly on the English Garden, the three Holiday Inn properties City Centre, Westpark and Leuchtenbergring, the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, the Marriott International Munich, the two new Locke Hotels Schwan Locke and Wunderlocke, the Platzl Hotel on Marienplatz and the Marias Platzl Hotel on Mariahilfplatz, the Sheraton Munich Arabellapark, The Westin Grand Munich, the Aloft Munich and the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost.
Within walking distance of the gate is the Hilton Munich Airport and just 15 minutes from the airport is the Infinity Hotel & Conference Resort Munich. If you prefer to get out of the city altogether, check out the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg at the Munich stand.
Very special locations are also part of the party and show the diverse event possibilities in Munich: The BMW Event Forum combines the BMW Welt, the BMW Museum and the BMW Classic and enables event planning across locations. Messe München scores with no less than four locations. The new Science Congress Center Munich provides a total of 2,400 square metres of event space, the Olympiapark München is ideal for events of all kinds, and the Park Café has existed in Munich's city centre for almost 100 years and combines Bavarian cosiness with urban charm.
Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH will also be there, presenting its hotels, locations, excursion destinations and special MICE offers in the triad of hilly Alpine foothills, lake and mountains. An event in the football players' dressing room? FC Bayern München AG shows how this and other football-related events can be realised. The best way to get from one location to another or to the supporting programme will be explained by the transport partner Autobus Oberbayern at the stand.
Event agencies with many years of experience and a good connection to the conference industry will provide the right contacts and organise experiences with that certain wow effect. This year's stand partner at IMEX Frankfurt is INTERPLAN Congress, Meeting & Event Management, who have been in business for over 50 years.
What else there is to discover in Munich, how event planners can combine culture and tradition with modern and innovative locations, can be found out first-hand from the colleagues of the Congress Bureau.
