Nine European Championships under one roof: The European Championships are Munich's largest multi-sport event since the 1972 Olympic Games. More than 4,700 athletes from all over Europe compete in the Olympic sports of beach volleyball, canoe racing, climbing, athletics, cycling, rowing, table tennis, triathlon, and gymnastics. The Macherei is located in the east of Munich. This building is a place to create ideas and realize new concepts. Working and inspiring exhibition rooms for art and culture create space to develop future projects. With an area of 16,500 square meters, the Design Offices of the Macherei offer various possibilities for working with individual as well as team offices.
In March 2022, the new "Scandic Hotel" will open in the Macherei, bringing Scandinavian and sustainable hotel business to the Bavarian capital. With its innovative design, the 4* hotel with 234 rooms, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar with a view of the Alps, which will initially be bookable exclusively for closed events, fits perfectly with the brick look of the Macherei.

In 2021, the Science Congress Center Munich opened. The new congress center is the centerpiece of the "Galileo - Neue Mitte Garching" and is located directly at the Garching-Forschungszentrum subway station. The congress center has a modern and bright atmosphere with 2,400 square meters of event space. The heart of the SCCM is the Audimax, with 1,300 seats and daylight. Its unique acoustics, equipment, and ambiance are impressive. In addition, the auditorium can be divided for events with up to 570 guests.

The Werksviertel combines living, housing, and working innovatively.
