UnternehmerTUM and the City of Munich have jointly created a new innovation and startup center for Smart City Solutions in the heart of the city - the MUNICH URBAN COLAB. The official opening was on 28 June 2021.
Since April 2021, startups, corporate innovators, science and creative professionals from various industries and disciplines have been working here together under one roof on 11,000 square meters. Various office spaces, co-working spaces, event and seminar rooms, living labs and a high-tech prototype workshop provide the appropriate space here. A café, two winter gardens and a sports and fitness room provide a balance alongside work and help with networking in a relaxed atmosphere. Innovations on topics such as mobility, living and working, retail and energy supply are developed and tested here.
Munich thus plays an international pioneering role in the development of smart city solutions. The central location in the creative quarter near Dachauer Strasse offers an excellent environment for the development and testing of Smart City Solutions, as the TU Munich, the Munich University of Applied Sciences and the University of Design, the University of Film and Television, the Goethe Institute, the Dok.Fest Munich and many more are in the immediate vicinity.
On June 28, the MUNICH URBAN COLAB was officially opened via livestream and celebrated with a diverse program and top-class stage guests.
