The MICE metropolis Munich shows responsibility

#simplyresponsible

The year is drawing to a close and we look back on an eventful time. In addition to all the challenges in 2021, it is now time to show the "soft" qualities of the MICE metropolis Munich.

The Westin Grand Munich, Sheraton Munich Arabellapark and Aloft Munich

The Munich hotels The Westin Grand Munich, Sheraton Munich Arabellapark, and Aloft Munich are part of the global hotel chain Marriott International, which is committed to the philosophy of "putting people first". Diversity and integration are also a top priority at the Munich hotels: For instance, new international colleagues who have just moved to Munich can temporarily live in the staff house and, if required, take advantage of a language course.

Furthermore "women in business" is also prioritised in these hotels. At The Westin Grand Munich, for example, three out of eight management positions are held by women. Paul Peters, Complex General Manager of The Westin Grand Munich and Sheraton Munich Arabellapark, made clear: "It is important to us to create a working atmosphere in which you can achieve anything with hard work and commitment. We have great female leaders and I personally appreciate each and every one of them." Click here for more information.

Hotel Bayerischer Hof

The Bayerischer Hof has been in female hands for 29 years - shares were already passed on to the fifth generation - the nieces of the owner and managing director Innegrit Volkhardt, in 2015. Fifty percent of the department heads at Bayerischer Hof are female. Correspondingly, the hotel is in line with the trend of female empowerment. All employees of the Leading Hotel of the World also enjoy a wide range of training opportunities. Around 150,000 euros are invested annually in further education.

Within the Bayerischer Hof Academy English, Typo 3 skills and time management can be improved. Practical training courses on carving or wine help employees in their day-to-day work. The training of young colleagues is also essential to the five-star hotel - it currently employs around 100 trainees. A varied sports program, including soccer, running, fitness and freeletics, are also offered.

Besides, the Bayerischer Hof aims to organise a joint excursion or activity once a month. Hence, new employees who are new to the city are integrated into the team during a bike tour or a visit to a museum, and casual exchange can take place away from work. Additionally, a support association for pensioners and employees in need was established generations ago. Moreover, the five-star hotel offers centrally located and discounted accommodations to its employees, primarily trainees. Click here for urther information.

Hilton Munich Airport

The Hilton Hotel Group also has various programs, especially the Hilton Munich Airport actively prioritises that positive change. Starting with the entire management level in the "Commercial" area, which is consists of female executives.

Furthermore, the international hotel group implemented the "Women in Leadership" program as a platform for aspiring female general managers. In addition, the Hilton Hotel Group provides its' ambitious managers the best possible preparation for their future jobs through regular coaching sessions. Group training creates an internal company network where mutual support is the main role. Click here for more information.

Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg

During the weekly meeting at the Hotel For Seasons Starnberg, equality is the order of the day: Exactly half of the heads of department are female. The hotel is proud to bring in experienced staff from outside but also to support former trainees in their careers. Women are leading the team in banquet sales and in Oliv's restaurant - both have already completed their training at the four-star superior hotel.

Claudia Mikschowsky also holds a special job - she is not only a qualified sommelier, but has also been in charge of the gourmet restaurant Aubergine, the only starred restaurant in Fünf-Seen-Land, since 2021. Together with star chef Maximilian Moser, she ensures an exceptional ambience and they have been defending the restaurant's Michelin star since 2014. Click here for more information.
