Spreading joy, celebrating culture and raising awareness for the environment and social equality are all on the agenda at this Munich festival.
From presumably 26 November to 31 December 2024 (market until 23. December) the Winter Tollwood on the Theresienwiese invites visitors to a colourful mix of artistry and concerts, arts and crafts and culinary delights. When it gets dark, the colourful shining tent roofs and the glittering sculptures in the “magic forest“ point the way to the festival grounds from afar.
Ecological commitment has always been a priority at the festival. The action site “Tatort Zukunft“ (Future Scene of the Crime) provides information about the 17 goals of the United Nations for the sustainable development of our planet. Stroll, browse, discover and enjoy at the “Market of Ideas“ and the “Food Plaza“ with handicrafts and certified organic food from all over the world. Admission to the festival area and the "Market of Ideas" is free.
The festival takes place at the Theresienwiese, 80336 Munich.
On offer are embroidered handbags, fair trade clothes, jewellery, pottery and much more. Anyone looking for a very special gift is sure to find something here. And anyone meeting friends for a meal “at Tollwood“ will find Indian curry as well as couscous, African specialities, mulled wine or bratwurst in a roll.
Monday to Friday from 2 pm
Saturday and Sunday from 11am
Children are also catered for at the Winter Tollwood. In the children's tent they can do arts and crafts every day.
At the turn of the year there is a big New Year's Eve party with DJs and live music on three areas. Alternatively, Tollwood offers a New Year's Eve gala with a five-course organic menu and an entertainment programme of artistry and live music. At the stroke of midnight, the traditional New Year's waltz will be played on the Tollwood grounds. You are invited to dance.
