High up on the fifth floor, Café Glockenspiel affords fabulous views over Munich’s famous landmarks on Marienplatz.
Guests at Café Glockenspiel are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking a view. The café is actually split into two areas: the restaurant offers wonderful views over Marienplatz square and the Glockenspiel in the Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall).
The rear section of the café has a bar and conservatory area and opens out onto a peaceful inner courtyard. In nice weather, you can even sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The roof terrace provides a direct view of Alter Peter, the tower of Munich’s oldest church.
As you can imagine, it can be hard to secure a seat here – if you want to make sure you get a table with a view, book in advance.
The City of Munich is also affected by the nationwide measures to contain the coronavirus. The good news: hotels and accommodation establishments, indoor and outdoor gastronomy and shops are open again. All other important information about the coronavirus and your stay in Munich can be found here.
