The tour begins at Marienplatz and continues via Odeonsplatz with the Feldherrnhalle - the scene of the failed Hitler putsch of 1923 - to Karolinenplatz and along Brienner Straße to Königsplatz.
At these stops, you will learn how Adolf Hitler deliberately turned Munich into the stage for his political staging: from the first marches and speeches in the Hofbräukeller to the monumental buildings of the NSDAP. The tour also focuses on the ideological charge of the urban space, the role of mass propaganda and the targeted transformation of Munich as the dictatorship's centre of power.
In the Hofgarten, civil society resistance is also briefly addressed - before the tour ends at Königsplatz, one of the central sites of the National Socialist demonstration of power.
