On this day trip, you can visit the fairytale king’s two castles, Linderhof and Neuschwanstein, which have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2025.
With Linderhof Castle, you will first visit the „Royal Villa“, the only palace of the fairytale king Ludwig II. to have been completed during his lifetime, which impresses with its magnificent gardens. If you book the VIP option and arrive between 15 April and 15 October, you can also look forward to visiting the famous Venus Grotto. This man-made grotto underwent 10 years of restoration and has been open to visitors again since 2025. The play of colours and the artificial lake will fascinate you. Once you have been enchanted here, the journey continues through the artists’ village of Oberammergau (standard verison; no stop in oberammergau, only through trip / VIP version: slow drive-through between 15 April and 15 October, or a stop between 16 October and 14 April) to Hohenschwangau. Here you have the opportunity to visit the impressive Neuschwanstein Castle and walk to the Mary´s bridge (Marienbrücke) to take photos of the castle from unique angles. Alternatively, you can use the time to explore the picturesque village and enjoy the idyllic surroundings.
