Press material and story ideas

In addition to popular sights such as the Frauenkirche, Marienplatz, and the English Garden, Munich offers a wealth of cultural highlights. The Kunstareal boasts with world-famous museums, magnificent buildings, and state-of-the-art architecture, while renowned theatres and concert stages make Munich a cultural metropolis.

Exciting contrasts can be found on guided tours through the city's districts. From the old town, with the shops of the former royal Bavarian court suppliers, to trendy new discoveries such as the modern Werksviertel-Mitte, with artists' studios and pop-up shops in old shipping containers, or the Schlachthofviertel, visitors can experience Munich's diverse cultural scene. Since the new Volkstheater and Isar Philharmonic have been built in the area, the Schlachthofviertel has become Munich's new cultural hotspot.

Visitors can discover many of Munich's attractions on a city walk. The North-South Passage takes you from the Olympic Park to Hinterbrühler See, while the East-West Passage runs from Prinzregentenplatz to Nymphenburg Palace. For more details, please have a look at our story ideas.
