Press release: guest cards

New guest cards for Munich

Munich is receiving a new touristic product. Since August 16th, the official guest cards for Munich will be on sale, making it easier and cheaper for guests to visit museums and to travel by public transport.

The tickets are issued by the company "Turbopass" in cooperation with the City of Munich. A large number of touristic service providers are included. This could be realized through the good cooperation of the Department of Labor and Economics with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art, the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and independent museums. The Munich public transportation association MVV is the mobility partner.

Two guest tickets for the city

Since August 16th, two guest card types are on sale, offering individual planning of your stay in Munich:

Munich Card (discount card) for individuals, small groups and families who want to discover the city with a low priced ticket on a flexible and spontaneous tour and who can save money or benefit from advantages of all participating service providers. The ticket is valid between 1 and 5 days.

Munich City Pass (all-inclusive card) for culture enthusiasts who would like to plan their stay in Munich in detail and in a price-conscious manner and see as much as possible of the city and its cultural offerings. The Munich City Pass includes admission to all participating museums, exhibitions, tours and other attractions.

Both tickets include a MVV local transport ticket for the selected period of validity and are available either for the city centre or the entire transport network. The integration of the entire network means that the journey from the airport to the city centre is cost-efficiently included. The prices for both cards vary depending on validity days and fare zone.

How much the tickets are

The price for the Munich Card starts at 9.90 Euro for adults (15 years and older) and 3.90 Euro for children (6-14 years and older). For groups of up to five people, the Munich Card is available starting at 19.90 Euro only. Adults, who choose the Munich City Pass, pay from 39.90 Euro, teenagers (15 - 17 years) and children (6 - 14 years) from 29.90 Euro or from 14.90 Euro.

Where to get the cards

The Munich Card and the Munich City Pass can be ordered online and by telephone at München Tourismus (+49 89 233 96500) or Turbopass. The cards are sent by e-mail for self-printing or use on a smartphone. The latter only applies to entrance fees, the ticket for local public transport must always be printed out.

The tickets can also be picked up in Munich at the Tourist Information Marienplatz, at the Infopoint Museums and Palaces in Bavaria in the Alte Hof and at the airport. The Munich Card is also available directly at the ticket machines of the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG) at the MVG service centres.
