New hotels opening in Munich

The luxury of feeling at home

The beautiful architecture, high-end shopping experiences, award-winning restaurants and first-class hotels are just as emblematic of the artistic, cultural and scientific metropolis that is Munich as are the city’s scenic districts and beer gardens, great soccer scene, the Isar beach or enjoying a coffee with good friends. The definition of true luxury, Munich-style: relaxed, superior enjoyment.

And of course, when visiting a bold, vibrant metropolis such as Munich, guests also expect the highest standards in accommodation. 2018 will see the launch of numerous luxurious state-of-the-art lifestyle and design hotels in Munich, to delight its guests. These new arrivals will be characterised by innovative design which defines luxury in “lean” terms.

Whether it be an exclusive boutique hotel with a limited number of beds, or a hotel project with generous conference and events areas, the newest establishments are focusing less on opulence and more on creating a distinctive, unique style of their own. They will not primarily be aiming to serve the generality of affluent visitors to Munich, instead seeking to appeal to various different “style groups”. These hotels will also score points by offering contemporary services, as the new approach to luxury sees benefits moving away from traditional features and instead focusing on guests’ individual needs.

So for example, many travellers would happily forgo a minibar beer, preferring to seek out the lively pub scene in the city. That’s why most new hotels in Munich are offering guests opportunities to come into contact with Munich locals, while providing accommodation which serves as a stylish, temporary “home from home”: a base from which guests can dive right into Munich life.
