The Tech Days sign in Munich

Digital Conference in Munich

TechDays 2020 with 2000 Participants

On 15 June 2020 the TechDays 2020 took place in Munich for the first time as a digital conference. Keynote speeches and panels this year focused on the topic of Clean Tech. Prominent representatives from politics and business spoke at the conference, which was attended by around 2000 virtual visitors.

The TechDays 2020 have taken the first step, and this year's event was held exclusively in digital form. Due to contact restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the organisers – Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern and Munich Security Network – decided back in April to hold the conference digitally for the first time this year. A complete success, as the number of participants shows: Around 2000 people took part in the free virtual event on 15 June.

The theme of the conference was Clean Tech. The term describes innovative technologies and products that aim to reduce the consumption of natural resources and thus promote environmentally friendly and sustainable economic activity. Other major topics were IT security and innovation management. In lectures, panels, workshops and pitches, distinguished speakers from politics and business as well as experts from science and digital natives presented the latest technologies and research approaches.

Among others, Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern was responsible for the technical implementation of the digital conference. Bianca Sum, project manager at Bayern Innovativ and Tech Days project manager:
"On 15 June, the sixth edition of Tech Days took place for the first time as a purely virtual event. Organised by Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern/Bayern Innovativ and Munich Security Network and sponsored by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, the Innovation Forum promotes exchange and cooperation between young and established companies, research institutions and universities with regard to new digital technologies, products and solutions. Only 10 weeks remained for the organisers to prepare the event in the unusual format. In the end it was crowned with success: Around 2000 tech enthusiasts from industry, science and the start-up scene had registered to follow the contributions of 136 international speakers."
