On February 8, Michaela Kaniber, Bavarian Minister of State for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism, presented the newly established Bavarian Congress Fund at the press conference on the annual tourism balance sheet. It is to be launched in the summer with a funding volume of around 25 million euros and will run for five years.
The Congress Fund was initiated with Tourismusinitative München e.V. (TIM) and Munich Tourism, Events and Hospitality of the City of Munich. The congress fund is intended to support the common goal of Bavarian destinations and their partners to position Bavaria as a location for congresses and conferences that is future-proof and competitive worldwide.
Bavaria is the first territorial state in Germany with such a targeted funding program and is thus taking on a pioneering role. The funding can be applied for by congress organizers themselves or by the organization commissioned by the organizer (PCO, agency, etc.), probably from 1 August 2024.
