The Web Development Team of Munich Tourism, Events, and Hospitality (part of Munich’s Department of Labor and Economy) is working to make this website accessible. We follow the Bavarian Digital Regulation (BayDiV).
This statement explains how accessible this website is under current laws.
This website partially meets the requirements of the BayDiV and the German Accessibility Regulation (BITV 2.0).
A website is BITV-compliant if it meets all BITV 2.0 rules. A website is WCAG-compliant if it meets all WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
We tested the website ourselves using browser tools and analysis software. We checked six sample pages with different content and functions.
Last check: June 6, 2025
Below is a list of accessibility issues we found.
We are still working to fix these issues. Most will be fixed by mid-2026.
Current Problems:
Some forms do not have the correct auto-fill labels (WCAG 1.3.5).
Some focus borders (when tabbing through the site) do not have enough color contrast (WCAG 1.4.11).
The table of contents on article pages is not marked as navigation (WCAG 2.4.1).
Some external links are not clearly labeled (WCAG 2.4.2).
Some PDF files are not accessible.
Some buttons and labels are not translated (WCAG 1.1.1).
Some images are missing alternative text (WCAG 1.1.1).
Some footer links are grouped together but not marked as a navigation menu (WCAG 1.3.1).
Some headings and lists are not in the correct order (WCAG 1.3.1).
The HTML code has some errors (WCAG 4.1.1).
Some pop-up elements do not have enough color contrast (WCAG 1.4.3).
External maps (like city maps or points of interest) may not be fully accessible.
The hotel search does not yet meet all accessibility standards.
Munich Tourism is working to improve the website. Because the site is large and complex, not all content is fully accessible yet.
Some fixes would be too difficult or expensive right now. These include:
Some videos do not have full subtitles (WCAG 1.2.2).
Some videos need audio descriptions, but we do not have them yet (WCAG 1.2.3).
Some external content (like social media feeds or weather widgets) is not fully accessible.
