Similar to a hidden nightclub, this hotel's creative potential and familial flair is hardly visible from the outside. Located on the top floors of an industrial building, The Flushing Meadows Hotel & Bar - official member of Design Hotels - is situated bang in the middle of Munich's hip - and super central - Glockenbach neighborhood. Nestled between the wild Isar river banks and historical sights, such as the famous Viktualienmarkt and the Deutsches Museum, the hotel's immediate surrounding is made up of restaurants, bars and boutiques. Upstairs, the hustle and bustle of the streets below quickly makes way for a chill, unique type of hotel. Eleven of the hotel's 16 rooms were created exclusively in close collaboration with some of the makers friends and local tastemakers/personalities from the fields of design, music, gastronomy, sports and arts. Consequently all lofts and studios offer hardwood flooring but totally different experiences: elegant, surf-style, reduced Japanese, colourful, bizarre, lush or minimalistic, depending on the room. The other five rooms are located on the hotel's top floor, three of which offer a private terrace. These rooms feature cosy panelling, fluffy carpets and are awash with light thanks to top-to-bottom windows which face south in direction of the lovely St. Maximilians church and the Alps.
