Social plugins

This tourist website uses social plugins. Currently these include plugins for Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. Under certain circumstances, these plugins may transmit information, potentially including personal data, to the service providers. The service providers may then use the information they receive. München Tourismus does not itself collect any personal data via social plugins or via their use.

At present, it must be assumed that at least the IP address and device-related information will be collected and used. We have integrated social plugins for the following companies into our website:

Facebook plugins (“Like” button)

Our website contains plugins for the Facebook social network, operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. You can recognise Facebook plugins from the Facebook logo or the “Like” button on our website. You can find an overview of the Facebook plugins here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When you visit our website, the plugin creates a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Through this connection, Facebook receives the information that you have visited our website via your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Like” button while logged into your Facebook account, you may link the content on our pages with your Facebook profile. This will enable Facebook to associate your visit to our website with your user account. We would like to advise you that, as the operator of this website, we receive no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used by Facebook. For further information, please refer to the Facebook Data Policy at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php If you do not want Facebook to associate your visit to our website with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook account before using the website.

This will enable Instagram to associate your visit to our website with your user account. We would like to advise you that, as the operator of this website, we receive no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used by Instagram. For further information, please refer to the Instagram Privacy Policy at http://instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/

Our website uses plugins provided by the Google-operated website YouTube. The website is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit one of the pages of our website that features a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube’s servers is created. This notifies the YouTube server about which of our webpages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this from happening by logging out of your YouTube account. For further information on the handling of user data, please refer to the YouTube Privacy Policy at https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/privacy/

Third-party advertising on our websites; third-party cookies

Our website contains some third-party advertising. We do not share your personal data with these third parties. We also use systems from partners and service providers to calculate the number of users accessing our website and to provide advertising space. Some of these systems use their own cookies and similar technical processes, the purpose of which is to measure the number of those accessing the site more precisely and provide more targeted advertising.

No personal user data such as name, address, telephone number or email address, is collected during the display of banners, buttons, pop-up windows or similar advertising.

We guarantee that usage data and usage profiles will not be connected with personal data, nor will online user data profiles be merged with any existing offline address data. Cookies and similar technical processes will only be used in certain cases to optimise the advertising displayed for the user. This reduces the repetitiveness of advertising material for the benefit of the user and thereby increases advertising quality. Cookies are also used to build up anonymised profiles. These are used for target group marketing purposes, whereby the advertising materials delivered are customised according to the behaviour exhibited by the user (websites visited, clicks, etc.). This process, known as “remarketing”, ensures that the advertising displayed appeals to the interests of the user and is relevant. Cookies are also used to enable you to see content and advertising that reflect your interests. Web browsers are routinely set up to accept cookies. However, users can disable cookies or change the settings of their browsers to ensure that they will always be asked before cookies are accepted.

If you do not agree with the use of cookies as outlined above, you can disallow the storage and use of information on your interests, or re-enable it if necessary. Tracking cookies can be disabled in the same way, by storing an “opt-out cookie” on your device and thereby preventing the collection of anonymised data. If you delete all of your cookies, please be aware that this may also cause any opt-out cookies you have stored to be deleted, and they will then need to be reinstated.

In order to deactivate optimisation using DoubleClick cookies, please click here: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/#toc-optout

The German Federal Association of Digital Economy (Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft/BVDW) offers a convenient option for deactivating cookies at: www.meine-cookies.org

Web analysis by Google AdSense

This website also uses Google AdSense, a service used to integrate advertising from Google Google AdSense uses cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that make it possible to analyse how you use the website. Google AdSense also uses what are known as web beacons (invisible images). These web beacons are used to analyse information such as visitor traffic on this website.

The information obtained via cookies and web beacons, with regard to the use of this website (including your IP address) and the provision of web formats, is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. This information may be transmitted by Google to its contractual partners. However, Google will not merge your IP address with other stored data that pertains to you.

You can prevent the installation of cookies using the appropriate browser settings, however we would like to point out that if you do so, you may not be able to enjoy all features of this website to their full extent.

Web analytics through Google Analytics

We use the tracking tool Google Analytics of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, Tel: +353 1 543 1000, Fax: +353 1 686 5660, E-Mail: support-deutschland@google.com ("Google") on our website.
Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of systematically evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator.

If individual pages of our website are called up, the following data is stored:
- Three bytes of the IP address of the user's calling system (anonymized IP address).
- The web page called up
- The website from which the user accessed the page of our website (referral URL)
- The subpages that are called up from the page called up
- The time spent on the website
- The frequency with which the web page is accessed

We use Google Analytics with activated IP anonymization. This means that the IP addresses are shortened by the last octet (e.g. 192.168.79.***; so-called IP masking). An assignment of the shortened IP address to the calling computer or terminal device of the user is no longer possible.

We also use the technical extension "Google Signals", which enables cross-device tracking. This allows a website visitor to be recognized across different end devices. However, this only happens if the visitor is logged into a Google service during the website visit and has also activated the "personalized advertising" option in their Google account settings. The logins and device types of all website users who were logged into a Google account and triggered an event on the website are taken into account. With the help of Google Signals, it is possible to see in particular on which device the user clicked on an ad for the first time and on which device the relevant conversion took place. We do not receive any personal data from Google in this regard, but only statistics compiled on the basis of Google Signals. If you do not wish to use "Google Signals", you can deactivate the "personalized advertising" option in your Google account settings.

The Google Analytics service is used to analyze the usage behavior of our website. The legal basis is your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DS-GVO.

We delete the stored data as soon as they are no longer required for our recording purposes. In our case, the storage period is a maximum of 24 months.

Facebook Pixel

For conversion measurement, our website uses the visitor action pixel from Facebook, Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA (“Facebook”). This allows the behaviour of visitors to the site to be tracked after they have been forwarded to the provider's website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement. The effectiveness of the Facebook advertisements can then be analysed for statistical and market research purposes so that future advertising measures can be optimised. The collected data is anonymous for us as operator of this website; we cannot draw any inferences about the identity of the users. However, the data are stored and processed by Facebook, so it is possible to link them to the respective user profile and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook’s data use
guidelines. Facebook can therefore enable the delivery of advertisements on Facebook pages and outside Facebook. We as the site operator cannot influence how the data is used.

Further information about the protection of your privacy can be found in Facebook’s data privacy policy
https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

You can also disable the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function in the settings for advertisements at
https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. You must log in to Facebook in order to do so.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable use-based advertising from Facebook on the website of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance: https://www.youronlinechoices.com/at/praferenzmanagement .

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time so as to ensure that it always complies with the current legal requirements, or in order to integrate changes in our services into the Privacy Policy, e.g. in the event that new services are introduced.  The new Privacy Policy shall then apply to your next visit.

If you have registered with us for a personalised or chargeable service, we will notify you in writing of any such changes at least thirty (30) days in advance, usually via email. If you object to the change, the current provisions shall continue to apply for the time being. You or München Tourismus may then terminate the contract on which your registration is based for extraordinary reasons. If you do not cancel it or if it has not been possible to deliver notice of the change, München Tourismus may wholly or partly block your data until you have been able to read the new Privacy Policy and accept it. If your data is blocked, you may only be able to continue using our services to a limited extent, particularly new services. If there is no further contact, we may delete blocked data after a reasonable period. If the change involves the implementation of urgent legal requirements, your data will always be blocked if you object to the change or if the notice of the change cannot be delivered. In such cases, München Tourismus may delete the data immediately after it is blocked.

Any such change will not affect your rights to information, correction, blocking, deletion and objection.
