Standing in front of a huge painting is always a special experience. But what if it suddenly starts moving and comes to life with sound effects? Immersive exhibitions invite visitors to experience art and culture through multimedia, while interactive museums allow them to actively engage with the displays. An overview.

- Studio of Wonders
Bavaria turned on its head – this museum is a topsy-turvy world of experience. The concept flips motifs upside down, creating surprises and illusions. A journey through the highlights of Munich and Bavaria gives adults, children, and teenagers a completely new perspective on the museum concept. “Magic Bavaria“ invites visitors to join in and try things out – with attractions like the largest ball pool in the city and exciting upside-down backdrops such as the Köngissaal (King's Hall) or a mountain cottage.
Erlebniswelt Magic Bavaria, Pelkovenstrasse 145 (in Mona Shopping Centre)
In 1945, Hollywood director Alfred Hitchcock sought the creative support of surrealist painter Salvador Dalí for his psycho-thriller “Spellbound“. The collaboration between these two geniuses resulted in a dream sequence, which is featured in the film. This exhibition showcases the original set design of the surreal dream sequence, as well as other paintings and sketches by Dalí, complemented by visual effects, holograms and an impressive VR-experience. An exhibition that brings together art lovers and film fans.
Dalí: Spellbound, Kellerstrasse 8a (at Fat Cat / Philharmonie), 6 April until 19 May 2024
Equipped with VR goggles, visitors to the Time Ride can soar over all of Bavaria, absorbing breathtaking landscapes and historical moments spanning 7000 years of history: from the first settlers to the fairytale king himself. The experience is enhanced by additional vibrations and airstream effects, conveying a feeling of real movement. After the flight simulation, guests can delve deeper into the history of Time Ride's origins or read about specific eras in more detail.
