P1 Club

Parties and celebrities

P1 is one of the most famous clubs in Germany – and one of the most exclusive. The club’s location is in the renowned Haus der Kunst (art gallery) in the Englischer Garten (park).

During the American occupation of Munich following the Second World War, the Haus der Kunst at Prinzregentenstrasse 1 was used as an officer’s mess with an entertainments programme.

However, the Americans struggled to pronounce the street name, and so simply called their base “P-One”.

Munich residents tend to also call P1 “Einser” (pronounced: “Oanser”). Celebrities such as Mick Jagger, Jon Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber, not to mention our own FC Bayern Munich stars, are said to have enjoyed some wild parties here.

Although the “strictest door in Germany” has relaxed its policy just a touch in recent years, P1 is still considered a club for the rich and famous, or those who aspire to be so.
