Dachau is the largest city in the surrounding area of Munich with a population of almost 45,000. In 1933, the first concentration camp of the Nazi regime was established here. Today, the concentration camp memorial is located here. This is visited after a tour of the 1200-year-old town of Dachau.

A guided tour with a licensed guide awaits you there. You can visit the museum and watch the documentary film about the concentration camp (from 14 years) and then visit the site on your own.

Afterwards, the newly designed memorial site at the former "SS-Schießplatz Hebertshausen", approx. two kilometres away, will be approached.
