Beer & Brewery Tour

Join the beer tour in Munich that actually takes you to a brewery to see how beer is made.

Welcome to the beer capital of the world! Sample a variety of beers, have a chance to try delicious Bavarian food and learn all the fun facts and secrets about Munich's “liquid bread“.

This guided tour by Munich Walk Tours is all about history and conviviality around beer. After the start at Marienplatz, the tour first leads via the Viktualienmarkt, then to the Augustiner am Dom.

A brewery tour of Munich's historic Thomasbräu follows, where in 1928 the brewery of the name-giving Thomas brothers merged with the Paulaner brewery. Even today, homemade beers are brewed in the Paulaner Bräuhaus - a craft that you can take a closer look at on site and, of course, taste the fine beverages.

At the end of the tour – depending on the weather – you can visit a beer garden, the Hofbräuhaus or the Beer & Oktoberfest museum. Finally, enjoy a few tastings of the golden barley juice. To get you in the mood, you can read our interview with two female brewers and understand why this drink is so rooted in Bavarian history and what innovations time brings with it.

You will also visit a traditional beer hall of one of Munich's oldest breweries and finish the tour at the world famous Hofbräuhaus. Even if you're not a beer lover, a night full of fun is guaranteed for all.
